A Day at MAPS

Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) employees played host to disabled children and orphans recently in a programme named ‘MAPS Day Out’.
Jointly organised by MAPS and Kiwanis Malaysia, the event, held on Saturday, October 28, was to entertain 520 disabled children and orphans from 20 welfare homes and organisations throughout Malaysia.
The children, according to MAPS Marketing Executive, Jeffrey Hanafiah, were between the ages of 5 and 18.
The objective of the programme, said Jeffrey, was to provide an opportunity for the children to enjoy the facilities available at the theme party.
“Similar events are held simultaneously at other locations around the world. Over 60,000 Kiwanis members and children are involved.
“With popular cartoon characters such as BoboiBoy and the Smurfs entertaining them, it’s definitely a memorable day for them,” he added.
One of the participants, Grace, 17, from Good Shepherd Family Home expressed her excitement at being able to experience the rides and to watch extreme stunts live.
“This is my first time here and I’m so excited. I enjoyed the rides so much and hope to come here again,” she said. Grace made many new friends too.
