ATP6 to Raise More Local Talents in Theatre

As theatre is one of the oldest art forms known to mankind, Perak Theatre Academy 6 (ATP6) under the Perak Department for Culture and Arts (JKKNP) has been persistently raising more local talents in the world of theatre.

The camp began from December last year and ended in January 2016 where Noor Izwani Mohd Salim, 24, from Batu Gajah was awarded the best student where she won return tickets to Medan, a plaque and cash.

“The passion started when I went to Perak Theatre Festival last year. Through ATP6, I got to learn and discover more about how I can be a better actor. Since I’m just a newcomer, I never knew I could win this award,” said Izwani who recently graduated from UITM.

Officiating the affair was state exco for Tourism, Art, Culture, Communication and Multimedia, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Dato’ Mohammed Radzi who hoped more would take part in Perak Theatre Academy.

“Congratulations to all the students who completed their training in ATP6. I hope one day they will become international stars and make us proud,” said Nolee.

For ATP6, all thirty students were guided by experienced directors such as Mohd Yusop Najmi Othman, the principal and Rashidi Abdul Khais, the head of academy.
