Cleanliness the Mantra

Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr Zambry Abd Kadir’s dream of a clean and cheerful state can only come true if the public cooperates.

During the launch of a competition titled, “Celebrating Visit Perak Year 2017 and My Perak Green and Clean Campaign,” he was delighted to see that participation by private companies and local authorities were aplenty.

The competition, organised by Tourism Perak Sdn Bhd, was judged on the following aspects – cheerfulness and cleanliness. Open to both private and public agencies, it was held from October 25 till December 20, 2016.

“The commitment by everyone is what is needed to ensure the cleanliness of the place. I hope this effort will continue,” said Zambry.

Chairman of Tourism Perak, Dato’ Mohamad Kamil and its chief executive officer, Zuraida Mohd. Talib were present during the launching.

Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council won the best landscape. Ipoh City Council was adjudged the cleanliness and the best local authority while Belum Rainforest Resort took home the best tourism facility for the 4 to 5 star-graded hotel.

The first-placed winner won RM5000, second RM3000 and third RM2000. On the other hand, for the best local authority category, the winner won RM15,000, second RM10,000 and third RM5000.
