Hello Elvis

By Ili Aqilah

With new cafes popping up like mushrooms after rain in Ipoh, it is still hard to find any that cater to the needs of dessert-lovers. Two sisters, Zartih Haslina and Nora Ashikin came up with Hello Elvis, serving soft-served ice creams with snacks at Jalan Sultan Iskandar.

“We have a very fond memory of Ipoh. The memories we had with our father and how much he loved the Rock ‘N’ Roll king, Elvis is the reason behind the name of our shop.”

The humble and cute cafe was recently open in the beginning of February and has been packed with locals and tourists staying nearby. Currently there are up to fifteen different menus with three different ice cream bases: chocolate, caramel and fruits.

The ice cream is made at the shop itself where toppings such as churros, crackers, pop corn, pretzel, strawberries and many more can be added and served to the customer. Guests are welcome to try Pop Incident (ice cream and popcorn topped with Butterscotch) good at RM8 or Caramel Hearted (salted caramel ice cream with crunchy pretzel and cereal topped with caramel sauce) at RM8.50 or Oh Ray 000 (caramel ice cream with crushed Oreo and marshmallow) at RM7.50.

The cafe also offers sides such as waffle with ice cream and chocolate sauce (RM12.50), churros with chocolate sauce (RM9) and root beer float with caramel ice-cream at RM5.50. You can also order hot drinks, smoothies and strawberry shakes!

Hello Elvis is currently offering 10% off their special card for a limited period. The cafe opens everyday from 1pm till 11pm. For more information about them, go to their instagram at @helloelvisipoh.
