Iranian Signature Art Gallery

Iran’s everlasting heritage in arts and culture extends through millennia and will continue to do so for many generations to come, as their works are commonly showcased in many countries and cities across the globe – Ipoh being one of them.

The Iranian Signature Art Exhibition, held at Level 4 (Bonzai Hall C & D) Syeun Hotel on Friday, October 6 was officiated by Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohd Radzi, Executive Councillor for Tourism, Art, Culture, Communication and Multimedia. The 60 art pieces and sculptures on display were crafted by artists who have had their works featured in United Kingdom, Germany, USA, France and Qatar among others.

“This inaugural signature art show is a very unique exhibition in Perak,” said Nolee. “We’re proud to support this event, as it’ll put Perak’s landscape and culture in the eyes of the Iranians through their art.”

The display, handled by Mandegar Art Gallery in Tehran, was a direct result of the collaboration between the gallery and Tourism Perak. Its objective was to promote the message of peace and love through Iranian and Islamic art.

“I believe this is the first stage to expanding the bilateral, cultural and business relation between Ipoh and Tehran,” said Hafez Hakami, Chairman of Iran-Malaysia Exhibition and Business Platform (IMEX). “We hope this can be repeated annually with support from our Perak friends,” he added.

Five per cent of sales from the exhibition will be given to charities benefiting from the just-concluded Ipoh International Fashion Week.

“Our goal in bringing this unique show is to inspire our local talents by learning the stories and meaning behind the works displayed today,” said Nolee, “It’ll also expand Perak’s cultural diversity and tolerance.”
