Media Luncheon with Mayor

“Utmost thanks to the media for their support to Ipoh City Council. To date, the total number of published articles for the past six months is 1307. That’s approximately 200 reports per month. It is fantastic,” said Mayor Dato’ Zamri bin Man during his first luncheon with media representatives on Thursday, February 4 at the Simpang Tiga Restaurant in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year.

“As a result, we see a significant increase in the number of tourists in Ipoh via the congestion during peak times such as weekends which helps spice up the socio-economic scene,” the amiable mayor added. Zamri thanked the 150-odd crowd from the various Ipoh-based media agencies during the fellowship gathering.

The objective of the luncheon was to foster closer ties between the Council and the media besides expressing gratitude for the synergy.

Present at the event were Ipoh City Council Secretary, Mohamad Zakuan Hj Zakaria, Perak Media Sports and Welfare Club President, Wan Asrudi bin Wan Hasan, Perak Media Club President, Alan Teh Pek Ling, senior staff of MBI, media bureau chiefs and their staff.

After the auspicious yee sang prosperity toss, the occasion saw the distribution of the much-awaited parking stickers to members of the media. Over 200 car stickers were given out, the largest number ever recorded. While the attendees ate, the musical ensemble played. It was an enthralling occasion for everyone present.
