Praise Home Food and Fun Fair

The recent Food and Fun Fair organised by Praise Home, a home for underprivileged children, was an event that was both fruitful and fun. The Food and Fun Fair was held to raise funds to enable Praise Home to purchase a minibus to facilitate the transport of the 40 children who are under her care. The event, held on the grounds of St John Ambulance Hall was officially opened by Reverend Clement Wong, senior pastor and chairman of the Praise Home Committee. People from all walks of life started streaming in as early as 8am. There were about 40 stalls, which included games stations and face-painting, that attracted the younger crowd. The stalls offered a wide array of food, local delicacies, health supplements, fresh vegetables and fish. Various food vendors, cafes and our Ipoh famous white coffee truck gave their services and food towards this charity event. The Perak Community Specialist Hospital also gave free health screening services. A team of professional hairstylists offered their expertise too. The support from the business community, local industries, NGO’s and the general public was overwhelming. The event truly reflects the big-heartedness and kindness of Malaysians. Now, Praise Home will be able to realise her objective in buying a mini-bus. The Home committee thanked each and every person who has contributed, in cash or kind, towards their mission. As Reverend Clement Wong puts it, “The hard work put in by church members and the support from the public were beyond expectation. Now the dream of purchasing a bus is a reality. A big thank you to all.”
