Members of the Leo Club of Sunway Metro, INTI International College Subang Metro, SMK Bandar Utama Damansara 3 and Lions Club of Sunway Damansara Metro joined forces with Leo Club of Ipoh Unity, SMK St Michael and Lions Club of Ipoh Bougainvillea City brought joy to orphans from Pertubuhan Pengurusan Jagaan 1 Malaysia by celebrating Merdeka Day with them at  the Lost World of Tambun.

Pertubuhan Pengurusan Jagaan 1 Malaysia is an orphanage that houses approximately 35 children. Some children are sent there by parents who couldn’t afford to raise a child and some were abandoned. “Every child has a story to tell whenever we visited them,’’ said Eunice Chan, from Leo Club of Sunway Metro, one of the organisers. “We have visited the home when we had KL-Ipoh trips and stopovers and most of them yearn to go on field trips. Hence we started making plans with local Lions and LEO Clubs in Ipoh and we were glad that we could make the dream come true for them!”

“Donations and gifts are quite common but going to the water theme park is every child’s dream. With resources combined we managed to grant their wish and made a difference in their lives together!” Chan added.
