You may see a line up every time this humble little cafe opens. Located right in the heart of the tourist spot, Patisserie Boutique doesn’t need a long explanation to introduce their scrumptious menu and desserts.
After spending almost a year as a part-time baker, former UTAR Kampar student, Nicole Gan Sea Ting decided it was time for her to set up a space to share her strong passion in baking and cooking. Three years later, Nicole’s hard work has paid off as Patisserie Boutique has become one of the must-visit cafes in Ipoh listed by Tripadvisor.
“Patisserie Boutique opts for a French-Parisian theme. I’ve always loved to bake and it was a coveted dream of mine to set up my own place,” said Nicole.
If you’re wondering what makes people willing to queue for their turn to dine at Patisserie, it is Nicole’s long list of cakes and desserts that keeps her customers coming back. Among the crowd-favourite is Souffle Cheese Cake (RM12), Dutch Baby Pancake, a combination of warm soft pancake, ice cream and fruits served on a hot skillet (RM18) and Matcha Souffle Pancake, a heaping portion of the Matcha slightly bitter pancake topped with Matcha Ice Cream, Shredded Parmesan Cheese, Blueberries and Oreo bits, good at RM17. On top of that, Nicole and her team also will create special cakes available only on certain days, such as their Coconut Yam Cake (RM12).
Visitors can also enjoy a variety of pasta and sandwiches such as Seafood Aglio Olio, Spaghetti served with clams, prawns and salmon priced at RM29 and Patisserie’s signature sandwich, The Four Seasons, Duck, Chicken Ham, Omelette and Smoked Salmon served on multigrain bread with salads and cherry tomatoes at RM22.
The cafe is located at 103 Jalan Sultan Yusuf (opposite Milk Cow, same row as Burps & Giggles). The cafe opens every day except Wednesday from 11am till 6pm. The cafe also accepts reservations and customers can pre-order cakes (three days before pick up).
