Return of The Other Festival (5-10 Sep 2017)

Thanks to its large turnout in 2015 and Bongkar for The Other Festival (TOF) in 2016, The Other Festival by KakiSeni is back this year for six days from September 5 till 10. Marking its third year of organising TOF, the festival will still be focussing on arts, history and culture. The team will also set up four light installations in four different locations in old town & Kinta River as a symbol of peaceful coexistence between the old and the new Ipoh.
Among highlighted events during the festival are a spooky bus ride around town; an historic night tour; picnic session at Taman DR Seenivasagam filled with great music and poetry performances; free sign language class for public; Warung Buku by Tinta Budi (featured in Echo Personality issue 252) and a theatre show entitled Gadis Jalan Burmah (Jalan Burmah’s Girl) written by talented actor Redza Minhat who also wrote the script for Terbaik Dari Langit (2014) and directed by Ashraf Zain. These will be held in one of the old buildings in old town Ipoh. There will also be Wayang Tembak (Outdoor-style cinema).
IpohWorld will also take part in the festival where they will be holding a free exhibition at Sarang Paloh, showing all modes of transportation and vehicles used during the olden days.
