Taman Lapangan SSI’s Own Security Programme

Taman Lapangan SSI (State Secretary Incorporated) located at Pasir Putih recently had the honour of having the Perak CID Chief, SAC II Dato’ Zuraidi Ibrahim officially opening their new Security Service Programme.

The housing estate consists of 115 houses. The estate had two months earlier formed a committee where the idea to contribute towards hiring security guards to enable 24 hours security control was mooted. Eighty occupied houses in the community have agreed to the programme contributing RM30 per month.

The monthly contributions go towards hiring security guards who provide 24 hours patrolling of the neighbourhood. The participating houses will be provided stickers for their vehicles which will serve as an added security measure.

Zuraidi in his speech to the residents reminded them that every city in Malaysia had daily reports of crime and that included Ipoh. The residents of Taman Lapangan SSI in setting up their Security Service Programme had “shown good initiative”. The programme is good and should be a model for other housing estates around the City of Ipoh.

Chairman of the residents Committee, En Zaidrul Bakri, thanked the residents for their support of this project. Zaidrul also thanked the house developer Mr Khor for donating a Security Pondok (hut) for their security personnel.

As for Ong Beng Hoo and Dr Palaniyappan, both residents at the housing estate, they like the programme. “Hopefully it will stop crime from taking place in the neighbourhood” added Palaniyappan.
