Second Firefly Flight

Firefly, which flies a direct Singapore-Ipoh return flight daily, plans to increase the number of flights on October 31.

A spokesman for airline told Ipoh Echo that there would be an additional four flights weekly. It mean that there would be two flights on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The schedule flights will depart Singapore at 9.20 am and arrive in Ipoh at 10.50 a.m. and  departs Ipoh at 11.10 a.m. and arrives Singapore at 12.40 p.m.

The spokesman added that the reason for the additional flights was to enable Singaporean businessmen to arrive early in the day, attend to their business appointments and make it back to Singapore on the same day.

The current Firefly flight departs from Ipoh daily at 4.40p.m. and arrives in Singapore at 6.10 p.m.

The airline will monitor the volume of traffic for this additional service until March, next year, and will review adding additional flights should the demand look positive.

Firefly which began its direct Singapore-Ipoh flight a year ago is regularly booked solid. The airline utilizes a 72-seater ATR72-500 aircraft and the flight time between destinations is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
