The Kinta Heritage Group, the group that came out with 2 Ipoh Heritage Trail maps will be organising “Perak Lost Living Heritage” a showcase featuring the traditional arts and crafts found from throughout the state.

The exhibition to be held at the Garden Villa 5, Jalan Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah, from November 27 till December 5, will feature tradesmen demonstrating their craft on site at the premises.

Tradesmen such as Tan Khar Mee, 67, from Jalan Tingkat Pasar Ipoh will demonstrate how to make a Lion’s head used for the traditional Chinese Lion Dance.

Abdul Mazin from Kuala Kangsar

Similarly Abdul Mazin bin Abdul Jamil, 60, from Bukit Chandan, Kuala Kangsar will take you through the steps on the traditional way of making a keris.

Besides the display of craftsmanship there will also be cultural activities and martial art display.

The purpose of the event is to create awareness and hopefully preserve these cultural heritage traditions before they all quietly fade into oblivion.
