IpohBug Sports Carnival 2010

IpohBug is a non-profit organisation established with the primary aim of establishing healthy communities especially among youths through sports, music and social projects. Director William Chang believes that the discipline and good values cultivated through sports and wholesome activities will have an impact on the youths and their communities.

“Sports is a powerful tool to unite and educate today’s youth,” he remarked. True to the organisation’s vision ‘Where Sports Meets Friendship’, IpohBug recently organised a sports carnival for the Ipoh youths. Basketball U18 and football U18 competitions were held in JKKK Gunung Rapat basketball court and Taman D.R. Seenivasagam football fields respectively.

The competitions attracted many aspiring players from the city’s community. In the basketball competition, Tasek Tayar was crowned as champion, followed by first runner-up Elim and second runner-up JKKK Gunung Rapat. In the football competition, Suria FC was crowned champion and second place went to IpohBug Team A. The third placing went to Perak Chinese Recreation Club (PCRC). Prizes and medals were presented to the winning teams at the end of the sports carnival.

“IpohBug will continue to partner with individuals and organisations in Ipoh and beyond to make a greater difference for the communities,” says William.
