The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents/ MATTA Fair held at Indera Mulia indoor stadium in mid March attracted a total of 90 participants, 52 of which were Tour and Travel Agents and Resort Operators.
Also noted for the first time was new charter airline operator Fly2Ipoh whose inaugural commercial flights started at the beginning of the first-term school holidays.
The event was officially opened by Encik Mohd Yussuf Al-Fahmey Abdul Rahim, Principal Assistant Director (1) of Perak Economic Planning Unit who stood in for Dato’ Hamidah Osman, the state chairman for Tourism.
According to MATTA Perak chairman Mr Ranjit Singh the fair held over 3 days attracted over 30,000 visitors. Total turnover of sales achieved during the 3 day fair was RM35 million which was a 20% increase over the last fair.
The destinations most booked by the visitors were for China and Korea.
The next MATTA Fair will be held on October 12-14 also at Indera Mulia Stadium.
