The Welfare Council of Malaysia, Manjung chapter, handed out food parcels and cash to 35 in-patients at the Seri Manjung district hospital recently. The Council’s deputy chairman Toh Sakna Menteri Haji Zakaria bin Haji Osman said that the council provides cash and gifts to the infirm, orphans, single mothers and the underprivileged during various festivities in the year.
About 100 Muslim orphans broke fast with council members at the residence of the Council Chairman, Toh Muda Dato’ Abdul Wahab, who is also the Manjung Territorial Chief. The council plans another grand event on September 8 for the benefit of orphanages in Manjung.
Besides the sick and the underprivileged, the council also renders assistance by way of cash and foodstuffs to fire, flood and storm victims whenever a need arises.
