As part of its corporate social responsibility, Tasek Corporation Berhad recently launched its first bursary programme at its head office in Ipoh.

Thirty deserving recipients, 10 each from SJK(C) Chung Tack, SJK (T) Kampung Simee and Sekolah Kebangsaan Tasek, Ipoh, were selected based on their financial backgrounds, academic results and involvement in extra curricular activities, among other criteria.

Monies from the bursary, paid out twice a year, will be administered by the respective heads of schools. Each student will receive RM1,000 a year for school expenses such as fees and the purchase of books, uniforms and shoes.

The bursary programme, a brainchild of Executive Director cum Chief Executive Officer, Philip Ting, will allow Tasek Corporation Berhad to not only support those selected but to also expand the programme to help other deserving students of other schools annually.
