TAJ International College Ipoh“An all-round student is someone who excels in both academics and games.” That was the crux of the speech by Pn Tina Hj Tajuddin, Chief Executive of TAJ College, Ipoh. Tina spoke at the end of the college-organised sports carnival held at its Jalan Tun Razak campus recently. Events such as football, netball, futsal, athletics, swimming, handball and bowling were held over a week’s period.

The participants were divided into four teams – Beta (Green), Gamma (Yellow), Alpha (Red) and Delta (Blue). The presence of a number of former state and national players from among the participants made the carnival more exciting. Lesser known players did not lose out as they were prompted to give their best in the presence of these ‘sporting giants’.

This annual carnival is not confined to students alone but is open to all, including the college teaching and administrative staff. “That’s what makes it unique and appealing,” said Tina. The closing ceremony was graced by Dato’ Zainol Fadzi Hj Paharuddin, Executive Councillor for Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports who later declared the carnival over.
