The Exclusive Beverly Thompson

Share

beverlyIpoh, for all its development that has been ongoing for several years now, still has that relaxed, easy going ambiance that many urbanites from Kuala Lumpur or Penang long for.

With the pace of property development picking up over the years  the sub-urban housing sprawl has spread throughout the Kinta Valley. This sprawl now stretches from Simpang Pulai in the South to Klebang in the North with Pengkalan in the West.

Nevertheless, despite all the progress that has enveloped Ipoh over the last five years and many a well-located plot has been quickly snapped up and developed by enterprising property developers, exclusive addresses located in choice locations are still available within the core of the city.

Well known developer, Kinta Real Estate, synonymous for developing quality properties and delivering on time, will be introducing 14 semi-detached units and 2 units of bungalows called the Beverly Thompson Residence.

Beverly Thompson Residence located at Jalan Tun Dr Ismail (formerly known as Thompson Road), is Ipoh’s exclusive, not to mention affluent address and lies lushly amidst a green and serene environment.

Its immediate neighbour is the Perak Turf Club while literally around the corner is the Sultan Abdul Aziz recreation ground, better referred to as the Polo Ground. Another green lung in close proximity is the Royal Perak Golf Club.

All units in the Beverly Thompson Residence are three storeys and each comes with five bedrooms complete with attached bathrooms.

Its other features include individual domestic lift system, 3-phase wiring, security alarm system, centralised hot water system, water booster pump system and home sauna system.

With a launch date scheduled for Christmas 2013, the 16 units are anticipated to be snapped up by discerning buyers seeking an exclusive address with all the mod cons of a prestigious development.

Falim Set for Growth with Tin City

The Kinta Real Estate group has begun work on Tin City in Falim, which will see more commercial growth to this southern section of Ipoh City. With a budget allocation of RM150 million, this development was officially launched in May this year and is expected to be fully developed in 2017.

Group managing director Datuk Poo Tak Kiau said that sales so far have been encouraging,  auguring well for the project. “With its strategic location for traffic heading south towards Menglembu, and all traffic having to pass through Tin City to get there, exciting retail opportunities are in the pipeline. With a hotel, condominium and a new hypermarket, this retail centre is projected to be an upmarket commercial hub with shops, cafes and trendy retail outlets, creating an instant facelift for Falim and bringing new life to this sleepy enclave on completion.”

In conjunction with the official launch of the project, the group is organising an exhibition themed ‘A Return to Ipoh’s Glorious Times’ which is on till August 11.

Falim set for growth-1

“This special exhibition showcases Ipoh’s mining history. Visitors can expect an exciting and interesting display of artefacts, photographs, videos and paraphernalia from the tin mining industry and the families which helped to create the history of our city,” Poo says.

Falim set for growth-3

Admission to the exhibition which opens from 10am to 6pm, is free and complimentary shuttle buses are available to Falim House at 180 Jalan Lahat, from the railway station (only on Saturdays and Sundays until August 11).

Falim House is itself a rich piece of Ipoh’s history, having withstood the test of time for the past 86 years.

Roshidi and Symphony Suites

Share

Mayor Dato’ Roshidi Hashim spent Labour Day, May 1, having tea with members and their families of Puspanita MBI, where his wife, Datin Hajjah Zainab Mohd Zainal Abidin is the Chairperson, at Symphony Suites. It was to mark the completion of the new hotel in town.

Addressing the press, Roshidi warmly welcomed Symphony Suites in enlivening the hospitality industry in Ipoh. He was impressed with its architecture, which he deemed comparable to Shanghai’s Grand Mercure. “It’s something different for Ipoh,” he said.

Roshidi and Symphony SuitesIn view of the owners’ commitment to participate in the city’s economic development, the mayor offered three months free banner advertisement for the hotel.

Roshidi was also impressed with the suites, especially those facing Gunung Rapat limestone hills. Suites on higher floors have a commanding view of half of Ipoh.

Strategically located just a short distance away from the Simpang Pulai PLUS Expressway exit, the mayor said that its current pre-opening rate of RM210 nett (approximately SGD85) a night is very attractive to Singaporeans. He suggested to the owners to come up with a menu synonymous with the hotel.

One of the owners of Symphony Suites, Lee Chee Ming, said that over the three years that was taken to build the hotel, Roshidi and Ipoh City Council have been particularly supportive of their efforts. Their doors were always open.

This boutique hotel is one of the 266 completed projects, out of the 4445 approved development projects by Ipoh City Council made through its one-stop centre. There are about ten star-rated hotels at various stages of development in Ipoh. They include Weil, Mercure, Cititel, Ibis, and in its final stages of discussion, Hilton.
