PWW Aids the Needy During Pandemic

Perak Women for Women Society (PWW), together with Bake for Better and Autoria Sdn Bhd, aided the needy during the pandemic by providing nutritious meals during Mother’s Day and fresh vegetables as well as essential groceries leading up to Hari Raya.

Hannah Kam of Bake for Better explained that the special collaboration was to benefit those who are most seriously and adversely affected by the pandemic and MCO in Perak.

“Profits from the sales of all baked goods in the Baked for Better (based in Klang Valley) menu will be donated to PWW for the benefit of all in the care of PWW,” said Hannah, who is the co-founder of the NGO named the Organisation for National Empowerment, and a lawyer by profession. She also has written a book titled “How I Co-Founded an NGO: One Vision, One Future”, which is available at the PWW shop in Ipoh.

PWW also expressed their equal gratitude to regular sponsor, Loke Kok Ming, Managing Director of Autoria Sdn Bhd (Toyota Sales) who made possible the transportation of the decent meals and provisions to the underprivileged and welfare homes.

Working with limited funds, PWW successfully reached out to over 150 families including migrant workers with essential groceries and fresh vegetables, and over 800 needy individuals with prepacked, cooked meals.

Sumathi Sivamany, President of PWW added, “We called some of the single mothers who received help from us previously to assist them. There were also ladies who made contact with our PWW Shop volunteers.”

“PWW wishes to thank all our generous donors and friends who helped us. You made a difference in the lives of many families who just couldn’t have two simple meals a day,” she shared.
