Lorries Parked in Housing Estate

Thumbs Down

Residents living in Jalan Chin Yin Fatt in Fair Park are worried about the lorries parked in front of their houses at night. Spokesman for the residents, who did not want to be named, said that the lorries are parked in the vacant land in front of the houses from about 6.30pm to 7.30am daily. This has been happening from the beginning of 2014. The residents are afraid to confront the lorry drivers who park the lorries and go away. The residents have to bear with the noise and exhaust smell.

While I was talking to the spokesman, within a few minutes a man came on a motor bike. He is also staying in the neighbourhood and knew the complainant. As soon as he came he said he had found another place to park the lorries and they would not be parked there anymore. This meeting took place about a year ago and the lorries are still parked there and the complainant reminded me of the problem.

After rain, the area where the lorries are parked becomes soggy and waterlogged. The lorries are parked close to the sandy bank of Sungai Senam and the residents are worried that the weight of the lorries would cause the bank to collapse.

The problem has been reported to MBI, but no action has been taken. Residents do not know how long they have to live with this problem.
