Serving the Community

Aimed at improving ties between the military and civilians, the 2nd Malaysian Infantry Brigade has initiated a series of community service projects nationwide to help and support the wider community. On Wednesday, June 1, the army community gathered at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pos Dipang, Kampar.

The two-day programme in the Orang Asli settlement featured free health and dental examinations, aerobic exercises, free vehicle inspection and repairs, army-cooking demonstration, live band display, karaoke competition, counselling session, gotong-royong, recruitment for Territorial Army and a friendly football match.

Present during the programme was Brig-Gen Mas’od bin Hj Muhammad, Commander 2nd Malaysian Infantry Brigade. “The ongoing series of community service projects stay true to our slogan of ‘tentera dan rakyat berpisah tiada’ (military and citizens – undivided),” the affable commander remarked.

Meanwhile, the Tok Batin (village chief) of Kampung Pos Dipang, Bah Sermu AL Bah Udin conveyed his utmost gratitude by saying, “The villagers and I are very happy to be able to take part in activities like cleaning the cemetery with the soldiers. I hope they will return here for similar programmes in the future.”
