Matta, CC1M and Pior Book Launches

It was a lively whirlwind of activities at Ipoh Parade on Friday, Sept 4 with three launches namely: The state-level Cuti-Cuti 1Malaysia (CC1M) Dekat Je campaign, Perak MATTA Fair and the art sketchbook Pior Perak.

As the saying goes, Dekat Je (just nearby) is chosen as the theme for the CC1M to illustrate that tourism destinations in Malaysia are just a stone’s throw away. It involves the cooperation of five municipal councils and 10 district councils promoting nine segments namely: eco adventure, cycling, homestay, heritage, leisure, medical, angling, island & beaches and family & fun.

“Perak received 7 million domestic tourists in 2014, the highest among other states,” said the Executive Councillor for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Multimedia and Communications, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohd Radzi.

Present was MATTA Perak chapter chairman cum Perak MATTA Fair Organising Committee chairman Chooi Swee Poh.

Meanwhile, the Perak MATTA Fair would be held from Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6 at Ipoh Parade featuring 101 booths. Last year the three-day fair achieved a sales value of RM30 million.

On the other hand, Pior (“pure”) is a collection of visual arts consisting of three books drawn by Persatuan Pelukis Perak, Universiti Teknologi Mara (Perak) and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris.

Some of the more popular booths were Keris Travel & Tour, Ipoh Overland Tours & Travel, MT Vacation & Tours, AirAsia, YOU Wings, Star Cruises and Malaysia Airlines.
