A Festival of Lights

Ipoh Parade kicked off its Festival of Lights carnival with a bang by lighting up their state-of-the-art animated-graphic facade, a unique structure at the building’s main entrance, bursting with a flurry of colours. The event saw several hundred people witnessing the show and participating in a number of interactive activities organised by Ipoh’s premier shopping mall.

To mark the joyous occasion, balloons were distributed and released simultaneously, as the lights went on. The enthusiastic crowd hooted and cheered.

Ipoh Parade’s Centre Manager, Chan Yu Yin, thanked his crew for working tirelessly around the clock to whip up this magnificent show. “We’re glad that the carnival had the desired effect on people. It’s amazing to see how far Ipoh Parade has come since its foundation was laid two decades ago. We wish to thank Ipohites for sticking with us through thick and thin. This is how we return the favour by creating memories that’ll last a lifetime,” he enjoined.

Guest of honour, Dato’ Dr Mah Hang Soon, commented that the refurbishment of Ipoh Parade would bring in more economic opportunities as well as making it as one of Ipoh’s must-visit shopping complexes.

Prior to the launch, Ipoh Parade kept the public entertained with stilt walkers, street magicians, fire eaters, games and gimmicks and a live musical performance by one of Korea’s up-and-coming youth bands, AlphaBAT. The crowd was spoilt for choice.
