Ipoh’s New Landmark

The completion of SOHO 2, a development project undertaken by MH Amanjaya Properties Sdn Bhd, is set to give Ipoh a new look. Small Office Home Office (SOHO) 2 is in fact, phase two of an on-going project to develop the piece of land fronting the Menteri Besar’s residence. It is located at the end of Jalan Sultan Idris Shah near the roundabout.

The ground-breaking ceremony by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr Zambry Abd Kadir was held at the site on Wednesday, November 5. It was witnessed by a retinue of top government officials which included the State Secretary, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Puhat Mat Nayan, State Financial Officer Dato’ Ghazli Jalal and Chairman of MH Amanjaya Properties Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Aminuddin Hashim.

Phase Two will comprise of ten SOHO units, a 40-room boutique hotel, a 10-storey office tower, eight office units and a prayer house. It will cost the developer RM100 million to construct. The time frame earmarked for its completion is 24 months. The first phase of the project was launched in 2011.

“This project is beneficial to the state government as it’ll generate revenue through rentals and usage of the office units and blocks. Economic activities generated will benefit Ipohites too,” said Aminuddin in his opening remarks.
