“Kekabu” Lady Thanks Ipoh Echo

Mak Cik Wok

Puan Radziah Yeop Ibrahim (Mak Cik Wok), 60, whose plight was highlighted in Ipoh Echo Issue 94 was full of praise for the community paper for helping to improve the sale of her home-made products. “There was a marked increase in demand for my ‘kekabu’ pillows and mattresses following the publication of my story,” she told Ipoh Echo recently. “I got orders from as far away as Kuala Lumpur and Johore.” The sale of her agar-agar kering (dried jelly) too has picked up. She thanked Ipoh Echo for making an effort to help the poor and needy. “I felt blessed,” she remarked gleefully. “I couldn’t have asked for more.”
