Poor service at government departments tops the list of grouses by the public said Encik Aziz Ismail, the director of complaints of the Public Complaints Bureau (PCB), Prime Minister’s Department. He told reporters during a mobile counter programme jointly organised by PCB and MBI at Stadium Indera Mulia, Ipoh recently. “Calls to departments go unanswered and this has caused the ire of the public,” said Aziz. “The use of voicemail and voice recording should be minimised and relegated to night time when traffic is low.”
One other grouse which is also of major concern to PCB is follow-up action. “There seems to be no follow-up action after a complaint has been made,” Aziz lamented. “The good name of the Establishment is tarnished as a result.” Present at the programme was Dato’ Abdul Rahim Mat Ariff, Secretary of MBI.
