Rotary Club of Greentown Donates Equipment


The Rotary Club of Greentown officially handed over Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy equipment costing RM44,100.00 to the Community Based  Rehabilitation Centre in Buntong. F. Vijeyaselvan, President of Greentown Rotary Club informed that this donation was made with grants received from other rotary clubs as well. The Guest of Honour, Lim Kok Beng, Rotary International District Governor officiated the ceremony by unveiling the commemorative plaque.

The Centre was opened in 1999 and provides services to cater to the needs of people with disabilities. The services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy and early intervention programme. It also runs a pre-school for disabled children. The children are taught activities for daily living, including personal hygiene, toiletry, dressing and how to look after themselves and prepares them to attend normal schools. There are 50 students in the pre-school. About 25 people with disabilities are being rehabilitated. The equipment provided would enhance the services provided.
