For the second consecutive year, property developer Andaman Group of Companies successfully organised two nights of charity concerts recently. It was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The beneficiaries of the amount of RM309,000 raised were Sam Tet Primary and Secondary Schools and the Brother John Moh Foundation. This amount was fifty per cent more than last year’s effort. The three Teoh brothers, founders of Andaman Group, were former students of Sam Tet, Ipoh.
The event was held at the Tropicana Grand Ballroom and Banquet and was attended by more than 500 guests. This charity concert was timely as it was held in conjunction with the secondary school’s 60th anniversary celebrations. The theme was “Yesterday Once More” and was led by Astro Talent Quest 2000 winner, Winnie Ho. She was joined on stage by Worm Lee and guitarist Roger Wang, who flew in from Kota Kinabalu. They revitalised popular Chinese oldies from the 70s through 90s, made famous by Teresa Teng, Leslie Cheung and Danny Chan.
