St. John Ambulance Central Perak Held Annual Inspection 2023

St. John Ambulance Malaysia (SJAM) Central Perak district held its annual inspection on November 19 at D.R. Park Field in Ipoh, which saw the inclusion of hundreds of officers and members attending.

The annual inspection for this year was the first to be held since the COVID-19 pandemic eased. The event was chaired by Khor Han Bin, the Area Commander of SJAM Central Perak, and the attendees included SJAM Perak State Commander Tan Beng Lee and SJAM North Perak Area Commander Low Chee Meng.

During the opening ceremony, Khor, in his speech, mentioned that the Central Perak will actively hold various courses to train its members in improving their management and leadership skills, including first aid knowledge and skills.

Following that, he also pointed out that a school in the Central District has recently installed an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This school is SMJK Ave Maria Convent, Ipoh. SMJK Yuk Choy, Ipoh will be the next to install an AED in school with the help of donors.

An award ceremony was held after the inspection, which included the presentation of awards for the footdrill competition and the presentation of Service Medals to recognise the contribution of the members and officers.

Footdrill Competition Winners:

Ambulance Adult Category was won by SMK Jalan Pasir Puteh

Nursing Adult Category was won by SMJK Ave Maria Convent, Ipoh

Ambulance Cadet Category was won by SMK Jalan Pasir Puteh

Nursing Cadet Category was won by SMJK Ave Maria Convent, Ipoh

In addition, 10 cartons of soy milk, with a total of 480 packets, was sponsored by V-Soy Company for the attendees.
