Double Joy for The Haven

The Haven Resort Hotel & Residences added another feather to their cap by bagging two more prestigious awards to add to their tally of 36 national and international awards so far. The latest, 2016 World Luxury Restaurant Awards, added two categories to the resort hotel’s string of accolades: Luxury World Wedding Venue (Global Winner) and Luxury Hotel Restaurant (Country Winner).

Tourism Advisor Malaysia for Switzerland in Basel, Switzerland, Datuk Jeffery Sandragesan, received the two awards on behalf of The Haven during a ceremony held at Grand Hotel Kronenhof Pontresina, Switzerland on Saturday, June 18. The winners were determined based on adjudged merits and on a global voting poll among the finalists.

The halal-certified cuisines, at one of the F&B outlets within The Haven, is well known for its wholesome, healthy menu, where food is prepared with the freshest of ingredients and without preservatives, monosodium glutamate (MSG) or artificial additives. In addition to Asian, Western and Mediterranean cuisines, it serves the best of local favourites such as Ipoh Chicken Rice, Singapore Laksa, Cantonese-style Wat Tan Hor (noodles), Nasi Lemak and Seafood Char Kway Teow. The menu lists at least 80 dishes to the delight of its guests.

Set in a pristine natural environment, the restaurant boasts an al fresco section which overlooks a calm lake ringed by untouched limestone hills and the 280 million-year-old limestone rock named Rockhaven.

Peter Chan, CEO of The Haven was overjoyed with the latest achievement. The world, he said, would begin to see the beauty of Ipoh now that The Haven has been crowned the global winner of luxury wedding destination. He added that although new, The Haven’s Cuisines Restaurant stands tall along with other excellent food establishments in Ipoh, as it has even been honoured as the finest hotel restaurant in Malaysia.
