Black District 1902

By Ili Aqilah

Why Black District? Simply because the cafe is a hidden place where guests can dine on scrumptious food, while listening to local bands or playing foosball or darts. Located in front of Ipoh’s iconic Dato Tahwil Azar food court, the cafe has been operating since early March this year.

The cafe has a local, western and fusion menu to cater to the taste buds of all foodies. Their Crazy Cheesy Tortilla (RM9.90) is a combination of crispy toasted tortilla with a humble portion of cheese and Pepperoni Tortilla (RM11.90) is also another must-try from the menu.

Customers are also welcome to try the Lava Meatball, good at RM9.90; meatballs served with fries and special sauce that is guaranteed to satisfy anyone’s craving and for those who are looking for a heavier meal, the cafe does have plenty of options including the new spice-infused rice served with grilled lamb and salad.

And to wash down the meal, guests can try one of their signature drinks, the Milosaurus priced at RM8.90 or opt for a lighter drink called the Herbal Soda, good at RM6.90.

Currently being the only cafe with a spiral staircase at the entrance, Black District 1902 also opens for artistes especially Ipohites to promote their art such as painting, sculpture or even photos. This was part of their initiative to build up more crowd for local art enthusiasts. The cafe has both smoking and non-smoking sections and parties can also be held via reservations.

The cafe is located at No.13, 2nd Floor, Jalan Raja Musa Aziz, 30300 Ipoh. The cafe opens everyday from 6pm to 1am.
