Praxis Got Talent

Praxis International College, Ipoh organised its first talent show called ‘Praxis Got Talent’ recently. The event was officiated by Chief Executive Officer of Praxis himself, Professor Dr R. Rajakrishnan.

Among the invited guests were Ramu Velusamy from Ungku Omar Polytechnic and Johnson Savarimuthu from Institute of Teacher Education, Hulu Kinta. Designed as a platform for the students to discover their hidden talents, “Praxis Got Talent” saw  a total of 45 competitors taking part, each showcasing their ability to sing, dance and more. A flash mob was held before the competition began. Apart from that, students also had the chance to display their cookery, baking and handicraft-making skills at designated booths.

“Organising a competition like this is my way of giving the students a chance to cultivate unity with one another, as they prepare their booths or form a group for the competition. I feel these activities help motivate students better,” said Kanimozhi Govindasamy, Programme Coordinator and Event Director of Praxis International College.

“Praxis offers courses such as hotel management, culinary and even office administration. I’m well aware that students would like to have some fun in between classes. I’m glad to see this happening” she enthused.

The competition was divided into three categories, namely singing, dancing and special arts. Deenishwary and Privitha who performed a duet won first place for singing. Girls Empire Group took first spot for dancing. For the special arts category, two winners were chosen based on different skills. Jegannathcharan’s mimic show and Anita’s jewellery making were among the shows that grabbed the judges’ attention.
