Ipoh Tourist Information Centre (ITIC) Reopens Today

The newly renovated Ipoh Tourist Information Centre (ITIC) will be adding value to the domestic tourism industry in Perak.

According to the Executive Councillor for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi, ITIC is a very strategic location for tourists and visitors given its accessible placing between the Ipoh Railway Station and countless hotspots in Ipoh Old Town.

“The renovation of the centre which started February last year was completed on November 22, 2020.

“The interior of ITIC was built with a more modern design and now comes with much more information and facts on many tourist spots in not only Ipoh, but also Perak as a whole, including segments focusing on Kinta Valley Geopark,” she told reporters during a media session at ITIC today (January 12).

Also present were the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin, chief executive officer of Tourism Perak, Nurmalis Musa and president of Perak Tourism Association, Dato’ Mohammad Odzman Abdul Kadir.

Nolee Ashilin thanked MBI and Tourism Perak for refurbishing ITIC and giving the centre a more welcoming atmosphere towards visitors.

“Hopefully, the upgraded ITIC educates the public, particularly the younger generation, on the history of Ipoh and Perak, besides further promoting the tourism industry in the state,” she expressed.
