Marianis Celebrates

Marianis, the Italian restaurant located at De Garden, Ipoh, held its first anniversary recently. The objective was to celebrate the restaurant’s birthday and to thank customers for their continued support.

Over a hundred of the eatery’s regular customers were entertained to food, wine and song, literally.  They were served with a variety of Italian food such as pastas, pizzas and steaks. There was a free flow of wine, beer and soft drinks.

According to restaurant owner, Dato’ Dr Wenddi Anne Chong, this is the first Italian restaurant that she and her partner, Kim Goo, had established in Ipoh. They picked the city because of its rich historical heritage and its people.

“When we first came here, it was to visit old friends. Later on, we decided to invest in a restaurant when we heard that Papa Riche was moving out. That’s how Marianis got started. We’re happy that we could provide good Italian food to Ipohites at an affordable price,” she told Ipoh Echo.

Marianis serves a wide variety of savoury Italian cuisines, including one of its bestsellers, Aragosta All’Marianis (spicy lobster with garlic and olive oil), Stinco D’Agnello Al Forno (lamb shank) and its famous wood-fired oven pizzas.
