Light Up with Fireworks

Meru Valley Resort together with Greentown Indian Cultural Society organized a Deepavali Cultural Night on November 9. Truly a night of culture, the free event was held at the Meru Valley Clubhouse lobby and was open to the public.

The explosive night of entertainment was celebrated with Indian Bhangra and Dhol accompanied by Indian instrument ensembles. There was a dance drama of Ramayana with a Deepavali story. They even invited and taught the audience to dance with them including the Cha-Cha-Cha.

The night ended with a beautiful fireworks display.

 

Little India Deepavali Carnival

Every year people look forward to the biggest Deepavali carnival celebration in Ipoh at Little India Deepavali Carnival. This year, the function organised by the new government, was no exception. The ten-day Deepavali Cultural Programme saw 100 stalls selling products from the area, and including kacang putih, snacks, drinks and other items. Religious songs and dances were presented by Hindu Sangam and students spoke on the significance of Deepavali.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu was the guest of honour at the closing ceremony and was entertained by folk dances like the peacock dance, karakaattam (dancing with a pot on the head) and others.

 

Ipoh City and Country Club Deepavali Nite

It was an evening of entertainment with songs, dances, game shows and the floor was opened for the guests to dance. There was a special Deepavali song presentation. The dances by Akshaya Arts Dance Studio were modern reflecting changing trends. Not to forget the less fortunate, cash donations were given to Anak Yatim Kasih Sayang and Persatuan Ibu Bapa SJK(T), Kampung Simee.

 

Perak State Level Deepavali Open House, SMK Buntong

Guest of honour DYTM Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar ibni Almarhum Raja Muda Musa distributed cash gifts to underprivileged children. Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, in his address, called on all levels of society in the state to unite to maintain unity and ensure prosperity. There were dances and songs to entertain the guests, and ample food was available.
