BVH – Better Together

Running on the theme “Better Together”, Bonanza Venture Holdings Leadership Retreat in Luang Prabang saw a powerhouse team of 36 participants across various business units in the group connecting on common core values and sharing best practices.

It was a leadership immersion like no other set in Rosewood, a luxury resort located in the charming UNESCO World Heritage Site of Luang Prabang from March 4 to 7.

Brimming with better bonding and fun galore, the retreat served as an empowering platform for leaders and budding leaders to get inspired and learn from other professionals across the group for implementation back in their respective units.

The collaborative culture for success was reinforced as everyone went above and beyond to put together the logistics of the event forming a cross-working dream team with a caring culture at play.

Bonanza Venture Holdings Sdn Bhd has a strong track record as an investment holding company through four principal business activities; property development (Kinta Properties), education (Matrix Global Schools, Kinder Labz and Ipoh Learning & Training Institute), hospitality and leisure (Meru Valley Resort) and automotive distribution (Ban Hoe Seng Auto).

Forming its corporate social responsibility (CSR) arms are Ipoh Echo, community-based newspaper and Ipoh World, a not-for-profit organisation which saves, records and makes available to the public worldwide, the accurate local history of Ipoh and the Kinta Valley.

Established in 1975, BVH was founded by the late Dato’ Lim Keng Kay as a mining consultancy firm, which later evolved into mineral extraction and processing, manufacturing, construction, development, value-added services, leisure and hospitality, education and automotive distribution. BVH has engaged with public and private market-leading companies around the world including, Multicore Solders, UK; TOR Minerals, USA; Swatch Group, Switzerland; Nihon Superior, Japan; Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Japan; and Taiheiyo Cement, Japan.

Tan Mei Kuan

Tan Mei Kuan graduated with first-class honours and book prize from University of Malaya majoring in languages and linguistics (English). She is proficient in both written and spoken English and Malay. She is also conversant in Mandarin and has knowledge of Japanese and Korean languages. Mei Kuan has been on the Dean’s List for three years running. Having written for the campus newspaper and residential college magazine, joining Ipoh Echo has helped utilise her writing and language skills. In her spare time she enjoys running (races).
