Peace Poster Contest by Lions Club International

The Lions Club of Ipoh Central, with collaboration from Lions Clubs of Ipoh Host, Batu Gajah, Ipoh City, Kinta, Ipoh Evergreen, Ipoh Centennial, Ipoh Tin Valley, Pusing Mandarin and Leo-Lions Club of Ipoh Athes are holding a ‘2020 Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest‘.

According to the organising chairperson, Bibi Lam, the contest, which is held annually, will boost ‘Peace Through Service’ as the running theme this year.

“We’ve decided to highlight this theme in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting international lockdown,” she expressed. “Through this contest, we would like to instil the values of peace in children and show how it’s able to improve one’s quality of life.”

The contest will be held at Aeon Midtown Falim (second floor in front of D.I.Y. shop lot) on October 11, 2020 (Sunday). Registration starts at 11am, while the contest commences at 12pm.

“Also, registration forms have been distributed to schools and art centres around town to encourage participation from children with talent for the arts,” Bibi added.

“We would also like to bring forward the fact that due to imposed adherence to SOPs, we limited participants to those between 11 to 13 years of age only, specifically, those born between November 16, 2006 to November 15, 2009,” she stressed.

“The contest will end at 3.30pm and the following award presentation is around 4.15pm,” Bibi mentioned.

Participants are prohibited from including any form of wording, lettering or numbering in the poster. Submissions will be judged based on interpretation, presentation and visual appeal of the theme.
