Calling All Malaysian Changemakers!

A global crowdfunding platform, LaunchGood is offering passionate changemakers a chance to win up to RM70,000 via the #JOMLaunchGood Challenge, a 48-hour fundraising challenge exclusive to Malaysians.

Charity organisations, community leaders, start-ups, creatives, collectives, budding entrepreneurs and high-spirited Malaysians from all walks of life are invited to raise funds for their projects or businesses via LaunchGood and participate in this online challenge.

It is held in conjunction with Giving Tuesday, a global giving day following Thanksgiving that generates over $500,000,000 for charities worldwide.

To kick off 1.00pm on Monday, November 30 till 12.59pm on Wednesday, December 2, Malaysian changemakers will compete in two fundraising leaderboard categories: the most number of supporters and the highest amount of funds raised. More than 40 cash prizes are awaiting fundraisers and the grand winners from each category will seize up to RM15,000.

LaunchGood supports donations via debit or credit card, thus it is highly encouraged to ensure your supporters activate their cards for overseas transactions. Three additional creative contests will take place on the same platform, namely best campaign video, best campaign poster and best blog post.

Plus, the fundraisers who rally a minimum of 50 supporters throughout the 48-hour challenge will be matched with an RM1,000 boost for their campaigns.

LaunchGood’s APAC Regional Head, Nur Sharain Abdul Rashid is anticipating huge participation from Malaysians for the inaugural Malaysia-niched challenge: “LaunchGood is not just a platform for people to raise funds, but also an ecosystem for good. We hope many Malaysians can take part in this challenge, be a part of the story, and inspire other fellow countrymen to do good.”

The challenge also serves as a call to elevate Malaysians throughout these trying times in the name of kindness.

“This is our first time having a dedicated challenge for Malaysians. We truly hope that changemakers and generous donors would come together to support the JomLaunchGood Challenge and show how Malaysians are united through goodness,” added Zahidah Azman, the challenge’s coordinator.
