The body of Muhammad Deniss Ramadhan Amar Fizry, 10, was found at a river near Lahat, 17km away from the location of his fall at Sungai Chepor on November 24.

According to a spokesperson for the State Fire and Rescue Department, his body was found around 2.55pm yesterday (November 26) by a volunteer team of eight from Kamparado, a white-water rafting group.

“The victim was found hanging on a tree branch 2m away from the river,” he said.

Earlier, a squad from the fire and rescue team searched up to 2km from the location of the victim’s fall, while another squad along with Kamparado searched from Sungai Kuala Pari until Sungai Kinta, which spanned seven to 10 kilometres.

“The search operation was assisted by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) K9 Unit and a squad from the Teluk Intan Fire and Rescue Station,” the spokesperson mentioned.

Ipoh district police chief, Assistant Commissioner A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz stated that Muhammad Deniss’ body was sent to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) Ipoh for post-mortem.
