Free Rehab for B40 Community Stroke Survivors

Stroke survivors from the B40 community can receive free rehab care at the National Stroke Association of Malaysia (NASAM). The participating stroke survivors will be sponsored by Yayasan Hasanah. The ongoing programme ends at the end of February 2021.

The rehab offer is on a first-come, first-served basis and began in September 2020. It is taking place at NASAM’s nine centres located in PJ, Ampang, Malacca, Johor, Kuantan, Perak, Penang, Kedah and Sabah.

Each participant will undergo a stroke specific rehab care programme. Initially, a stroke assessment will be carried out. This will include establishing the stroke survivor’s medical and rehabilitation background, mobility and difficulties in movement, as well as rehab expectations. NASAM will then customise a rehab programme to help the stroke survivor towards recovery.

NASAM is extremely grateful to Yayasan Hasanah for this valuable support and is urging all B40 stroke survivors to take advantage of the offer by calling 018-2221878 or the nearest NASAM centre (refer to www.nasam.org for contact details).
