Ipohite Found Dead in a House at Ipoh Garden

An Ipohite senior citizen at an approximate age of 67 was found dead in a house located along Lengkok Ipoh in Ipoh Garden yesterday (May 16).

According to the Ipoh district police chief Assistant Commissioner A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz, a call was received at around 11.10am from a man who was the deceased’s neighbour.

“He told the police that he hasn’t seen the deceased for over three days and that there was an unpleasant smell coming from the house involved.

“A police squad then rushed to the location and saw the remains but they were unable to enter the house as it was locked.

“Assistance from the rescue squad was then requested,” he explained when contacted by the media regarding the matter.

A spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said that they received the call at around 11.17am.

“A squad and a vehicle from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station were rushed to the scene right after.

“Upon arrival, the squad broke the locks of the house gate and front door.

“The remains of the deceased were found lying in the kitchen,” the spokesperson stated.

A. Asmadi added that the police is currently looking for identification of the deceased and descendants, including any medical records at the Ipoh Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB).

“His remains were brought to the Forensics Unit for COVID-19 test and post-mortem,” he added.
