Houses on Fire, No Victims Reported

A fire broke out at two terrace houses at Jalan Pengkalan Pertama 17, Taman Pengkalan Pertama in Ipoh earlier today (June 22).

According to a spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), an emergency call was received at around 6.04am.

“A squad and a vehicle from the Pasir Puteh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), along with volunteer fire brigades (PBS) from Pasir Pinji and Pekan Baru were deployed to the location.

“Upon arrival, the first house had already been consumed by the fire, with damages around 30 percent.

“Due to the heat, the house next door also suffered damages of around three percent. Fortunately, no victims were involved.

“The team proceeded to extinguish the fire using two hose reels of 100 feet each with two jets,” he explained, adding that investigation to determine the cause of the fire is ongoing.

The operation which ended at around 7.53am was led by Senior Fire Officer II (PBK II) Shahrizala Abu Hanafiah.
