Perak Transitioning Into Second NRP Phase Starting Tomorrow

Perak is to transition into the second phase of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) starting tomorrow (July 5).

According to the Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato’ Saarani Mohamad, this is due to the state having met all three threshold indicators of the first phase set by the government.

“Firstly, the average number of individuals tested positive must be below 307 and we’ve achieved that.

“Next, the usage of intensive care unit (ICU) beds must be below 70 percent. As of latest, only 27 percent are currently utilised.

“Last but not least, the vaccination rate must be at 10 percent or above. The rate in Perak has surpassed the minimum.

“Thus, should more individuals get vaccinated as soon as possible, there’ll be far fewer cases.

“With that, Perak can hopefully transition into the third phase of the NRP soon,” he explained to reporters at the vaccination outreach programme in Kampung Chadak, Ulu Kinta earlier today (July 4).
