Daily Bread for Kampung Tai Lee

Ann Tan, the organiser for the charity bake drive ‘Our Daily Bread’, announced in a Facebook post that her team recently initiated a joint effort with Perak Women for Women Society (PWW), Canning Dim Sum and Kg Koh Chilli to distribute freshly baked bread to the needy in Kampung Tai Lee, Buntong.

The residents of Kampung Tai Lee received 36 loaves of homemade bread from ‘Our Daily Bread’ and 46 packets of mantou (Chinese steamed bun) from Canning Dim Sum in a distribution today (July 28). They were also presented with bottles of Kg Koh Chilli sauce and hand-sewn cotton masks from ED Shop.

‘Our Daily Bread’ is a charity bake drive helmed by volunteer home-bakers who produce fresh bread daily to be distributed to needy communities. The drive has been ongoing since late June this year, with the baked goods regularly sent to Go GreenPerak City recycling center in Pasir Puteh, Dear Dental Clinic, and Soroptimist International Ipoh for distribution. On a related note, PWW has previously set up a Community Food Pantry at Kampung Tai Lee to aid the poor community there. It is part of their many efforts in supporting those who are struggling to get by during these difficult times.

To contribute to their ongoing cause, one may channel donations to the CIMB Bank Account No. 8004882245 (Persatuan Wanita Perak Untuk Wanita).
