We have probably heard friends and family lamenting the price surge of wet goods. However, the Perak government, through the Perak Agricultural Development Corporation (PPPNP), will keep the cost of fresh chicken at RM4 via the Perak Mobile Store (KBNP).
With a purchase value of essentials at RM25 and above at mobile stores, one will be able to get their chicken at only RM4. According to Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, the implementation of the price depends on the sufficiency of livestock.
“This will encourage people to buy other items while simultaneously offering chickens at a fairly reasonable price.
“Perak will not follow the Selangor government’s plan to impose a price cap of RM8 per kilogram. Such a price might be difficult to bear for some of us,” he said after the Perak Government Customer Meeting Day at Stadium Indera Mulia recently.
In addition to that, PPPNP Chief Executive Officer, Yahanis Yahya explained that the state government has brought the sale of standard fresh chicken at RM4 apiece to bear at every mobile shop sale throughout the state.
He added that chicken is always at the top of the best selling list each time a mobile shop sale is held in every State Legislative Assembly (DUN) constituency.
A million ringgit has been allocated by PPPNP to Yayasan Bina Upaya (YBU) for the standard fresh chicken supply via mobile shops.
Consumers can get a discounted rate for their daily essentials at as much as 15 percent at KBNP.
KBNP was rebranded by YBU last November to offer daily goods at a bargain price.
