Meet Oreo at Furry Treasures

Newly arrived in town is the first cat-themed cafe in Ipoh, Furry Treasures, which is an effort of a mother-and-son duo.

Not only is it a center of attraction for lovers of animals, it’s also a place for those who enjoy a good cuppa! The son, Yau Wai Kin, who briefly shared with us that each coffee has distinct taste notes, is well-versed in coffee.

Having explored different career interests, he finally decided to take a plunge into the F&B business with his mother, Yim Wai Fung.

One will be greeted by a mighty friendly British Shorthair who responds to the name, Oreo.

However, pet owners are not allowed to bring their fur babies to prevent overcrowding as well as to ensure cleanliness of the place.

It’s definitely a treasure cove for some quiet and a welcome break from the hurly-burly of work life to recharge your positive energy.

Providing a comfortable and cozy space to get some work done, one can also gain access to Oreo’s world at Furry Treasures.

Each cat exhibits their own individual personality and some might display loud or aggressive reactions to announce their discontent. But being the distinguished gentleman he is, Oreo would just walk away

Besides a warm welcome from Oreo, their sweet treats are also worthy of praise. There’s a variety of desserts and drinks available, but we recommend trying their specialty Japanese blue dessert that looks similar to an agar-agar jelly but with a wholesome taste that will surely soothe your soul.

The heart-shaped Strawberry Lychee dessert could also be an item of interest especially with the upcoming Valentine’s Day.

What could be better than a cup of coffee and dessert? Having a furry friend as company! Now is the time to enhance the mundane Valentine’s activities on this special occasion with Furry Treasures.
