Residents and staff at Rumah Love and Care (RLC) of Menglembu had an enjoyable time when they were feted by Ipoh Bug with a sumptuous lunch cum karaoke session at a reputable restaurant recently.
It was indeed a memorable day after being cooped up in the home for almost two and a half years due to the pandemic.
Ipoh Bug too was also in hiatus for the same time although they have been busy supplying foodstuff and daily necessities to the poor and destitute whenever they could during these sad times.
It was a sight to behold to see the young volunteers of Ipoh Bug mingling with the senior citizens and bringing happiness to their otherwise mundane lives. They were enthusiastically encouraging the seniors to sing along and dance to the ‘oldies’.
In between the singing and dancing, a simple quiz was conducted and ‘angpows’ (red packets) were given for the right answers. There were a total of about 20 seniors in the group with ages ranging from 60 to 98 years ago.
The function ended with the presentation of some donations from generous well-wishers to the home. The Home is a non-profit organisation and sponsors for food, daily essentials and donations are welcomed.
