Registration is Free: Ipoh Parade’s Merdeka Colouring Contest to Return on August 28
In conjunction with the 65th National Day, Ipoh Parade’s annual Merdeka colouring contest will unfold at the mall’s main court on Sunday, August 28 to instill patriotism in young Malaysians.
This popular activity is organised in collaboration with the World of Colours Art Centre among others.
As registration is free, children from ages 4 to 12 are welcomed to join the contest with prizes totalling RM9,000 across all categories.
It is divided into 3 categories: Category A for children from 4 to 6 years old, Category B for 7 to 9-year-olds and Category C for 10 to 12-year-olds.
Do take note that the registration will remain open until Thursday, August 25.
“Even the simple act of colouring is a crucial skill for self expression in a child’s early development,” remarked Lim Huey Tyng, Assistant Manager for Advertising & Promotions at Ipoh Parade.
“We are delighted to be able to hold this meaningful event again this year to promote the spirit of patriotism among the younger generation,” she added.

One can also obtain the registration forms at Ipoh Parade’s Information Counter on the ground floor or from World of Colours Art Centre.
The competition time slot for each category is as follows:
Category A – 10:30am – 12:00pm
Category B – 2:00pm – 3:30pm
Category C – 4:00pm – 5:30pm
Due to the high volume of entries anticipated for this contest, all participants are advised to arrive at least 1 hour before respective contest time for registration.
The prize presentation will be conducted at 1.00pm for Category A and at 6.00pm for Categories B and C.
Participants and family members are reminded to observe the standard operating procedure (SOP) for Covid-19 prevention at all times while taking part in the event to keep everyone safe.
