In Memory of the Late Mr. Chin Yoong Kim
It is with great sadness that Ipoh Echo learned of the peaceful passing on of Mr Chin Yoong Kim at 11.10 pm last night, Wednesday, 16.11.2022
The wake shall be held today from 3 pm to 10 pm at Heavenly Home Funeral Service, 79 Jalan Masjid, Taman Jubilee, 31650 Ipoh.
The funeral will take place the next day with a short service at 10 am followed by a procession to the crematorium at Papan.
Mr Chin had dedicated his entire teaching career to ACS Ipoh. He might not have taught all of us but through the decades, he certainly deeply touched many thousands of students.
He is a legend, an icon of ACS Ipoh. The last of the very special breed of educators.
He immortalised the ACS Ipoh School Song and ethos.
He was amongst the stalwarts who saved our Alumni Association from de-registering (after our 100th Centennial).
His long service on the EXCO stands to be emulated. To many, he had become more of a friend and mentor after their student days.
Mr Chin Yoong Kim, will be deeply missed and very fondly and often remembered not only by the Alumni but also by decades of students whose lives he touched. He is an icon and a legend of ACS Ipoh. A man who dedicated his entire teaching career to us. Rest In Peace
